Upon The Cross
Upon the cross, our Savior bore
The weight of sins we can't ignore
He suffered wounds and shed His blood
To save us all, the Lamb of God
The crown of thorns upon His head
His body beaten, torn, and bled
He cried out "Father, forgive"
As all of heaven seemed to grieve
Betrayed and judged by selfish men
Abandoned by His closest friends
He bore it all with perfect grace
Until His final breath released
The earth grew dark, the veil was torn
As heaven wept for all He'd borne
The Son of God, the sacrifice
Who paid the price and gave us life
We take the bread, we drink the wine
Remembering His love divine
For in His death, our hope is found
Our sins forgiven, our souls unbound
Oh wondrous cross, oh precious blood
Without His death, there is no love
We praise You, Christ, our risen King Forevermore, our hearts will sing.
