Tears of a Clown
I wore a happy face
A smile that never fades
A glowing round nose
An image that stirs excitement in your mind
A performance that cut across all borders
A therapy like no other!
At the end of the show, you go home excited
Your spirit man is renewed
Relationships on the verge of collapse is re-brewed
A smile on the face of the broken hearted
And stress is given a hoot at
Cos...I do what I do best!
Wipe away your troubles like the morning mist
But who cares for the clown
Who cares whether he smiles or frowns
I am a man like you behind the mask
With the most complex task;
"To make you happy"
Your wife, children and sometimes your poppy
Irrespective of your kind of issue
A tailor made jokes I have to issue
Whilst my own challenges awaits me at home
Sometimes too complex and ancient like Rome
Hanging on my very door
Wrenching my heart to the very core
I ask again
Even though I know it's a question in vain
Who cares for the clown
Who cares whether he smiles or frowns
Tears! I shared for relief
Hoping to receive some sunshine like a leave
Not even a significant other
With whom my troubles to bother
Not even a character pet
With whom my emotions I'll let
Not even a shadow of hope
To take solace in the smiles of the pope
So enjoy the moments whilst it last
Before my troubles catch up with me too fast
You'll look for me, but I wouldn't be there
I may be at the hospital or somewhere gasping for air
Then you would've realized
That me you should've energized.
When you say a prayer
Say one for all humanity!
