No Longer at Ease

Image
Little by Little the fowl drink it's water I don't have it all but my hopes I do keep Hoping that some day into great fortune I'll leap Day and night presenting my petition before the alter One step at a time l work with all my might Giving all it takes in my prime Hoping the end of the tunnel will receive me with light But the more effort I put The more sweat I scoop From my forehead onto my boots My pity self, misery do not want to look I am no Longer at ease My hopes are being held in a leash Controlled by the powers that be Stinging me without mercy like a busy bee Oh! When shall I look forward to a relieve From this torment like one who's bereaved In Hard work and optimism I do believe But this seems never to be ending soon My aspirations seems to be shrouded to my doom  This isn't just right I Just want to be free and soar like a kite Free and without limitation Is this too much to ask Especially when the system is full of imitation May God grant me all the ...

Nat And Pat

Image
Nat and Pat, the dearest of friends Their bond so strong it never bends Two peas in a pod, they are always together Come rain or shine, they don't mind the  weather They met when they were just small In the playground, they stood tall Their giggles and laughter filled the air A friendship so pure, so rare Nat loves to sing, Pat loves to dance Their talents complement each other, it's  like a chance To always have someone to share with Their dreams, their fears, their every myth Nat and Pat, they grow up fast But their friendship forever lasts Through high school and college too Their love for each other always grew Now adults, they're still going strong Their friendship truly can't be wrong Nat and Pat, the dearest of friends Their bond so strong, it never ends.

Husband, 10 Unspoken Needs of Your Wife

Image
Husbands, if you’ve ever thought,  “I just can’t figure her out”  maybe this can be a launching pad to deeper conversations with your spouse. I remember watching "What Women Want" not long after its release in 2001. The  movie chronicles a man, Nick Marshall, who receives a fresh perspective on  women after a fluke accident. And by “fresh perspective,” I mean he has the  ability to read women’s minds. Sounds fascinating, right? I thought so too. Then I watched the movie. Don’t get me wrong, I laughed quite often. But I was also terrified. I left  the theater with one of those “I just saw a ghost” looks. Totally dazed and  confused. For like two hours, I vowed never to date a woman again. I would be  single the rest of my life, maybe become a monk or something. Singleness would  be easier than trying to figure out a woman. Fast forward 15 years. I’ve been married to an amazing woman for over 6 years,  we have two children, and our marriag...

Upon The Cross

Image
Upon the cross, our Savior bore The weight of sins we can't ignore He suffered wounds and shed His blood To save us all, the Lamb of God The crown of thorns upon His head His body beaten, torn, and bled He cried out "Father, forgive" As all of heaven seemed to grieve Betrayed and judged by selfish men Abandoned by His closest friends He bore it all with perfect grace Until His final breath released The earth grew dark, the veil was torn As heaven wept for all He'd borne The Son of God, the sacrifice Who paid the price and gave us life We take the bread, we drink the wine Remembering His love divine For in His death, our hope is found Our sins forgiven, our souls unbound Oh wondrous cross, oh precious blood Without His death, there is no love We praise You, Christ, our risen King Forevermore, our hearts will sing.

Palm Sunday

Image
Palm Sunday, a day so divine, The crowds gather to worship and shine. Hosanna! Hosanna! The people cry, As Jesus enters, riding by. With palms in hand, they wave and cheer, A king they see, so strong and near. Their hearts are filled with joy and hope, As they follow Him up the slope. A humble man, our Savior goes, The Son of God, who bears our woes. He comes to bear the sins of the world, So we can be forever unfurled. On this day, we recall His love, His sacrifice, and our lives He does move. May we embrace His gift so pure, To live with Him evermore. Palm Sunday, a day of praise, Our hearts are lifted, our voices raise. Hosanna! Hosanna! We sing, As we welcome the King of kings.

Patience

Image
Patience is a virtue, so they say It’s a skill that we must learn along the way It’s not an easy thing to do, But with practice, we can make it through. In times when we are filled with doubt And we want things to happen right now, We must remember to take it slow And trust the process, as we go. When we’re waiting for the sun to rise Or for the rain to fall from the skies, We must keep our composure, And simply wait for nature’s closure. It’s the calm that comes with waiting, The grace that we find in delaying, It’s the understanding that things take time, And it’s a lesson that we must keep in mind. So let us practice patience every day, And trust that our efforts will pave the way, For a brighter future, where we will see The fruits of our labor, eventually.

Wishes Of A Bachelor

Image
All day long I sit alone, With nobody to call my own. I am an acorn, Yet in the same boat with Akon. May God lift me to where I belong, In the midst of the beautiful ladies and beyond. Just so i could have a konkonsa partner! One that will soothe my soul with rain, And kiss away my pain, The headache and the stress she'll drain. A freethinker, And definitely not a stinker. Dreams comes true they say! But not a 21st century Queen to come and slay. A typical Abrewa Nana won't be a bad choice, In you for many years my soul will rejoice. Oh! how I wish you are a saturday born, Beautiful fabrics and Kente you'll don. And I'll call you Ama! Your beautiful lips won't have issues with grammar. Not to talk of your creativity, That alone will spur me on in every activity. London, Paris, Venice, Quebec and Dubai! All these cities I can buy! Where will you prefer? Just show up my dear and I'll put you on transfer!

I Am

Image
I AM But easy going personality With no room for carnality. I wore my pride,  Whilst enjoying life's ride. The source of my inspiration. I AM But SIMPLE My smiles I wore Just to show off my dimples, Just a little complicated on the hind side. Come to me with a bouquet of flowers A blissful life you'll have Come to me with hatred And fury will see you out the door Come to me with an ungodly chat My mind I'll close on you! I AM But FIRM The word "NO", My trusted companion. Which I use not out of convenience. But to delay gratification, Which offers but Pleasures for now. I AM But ROBUST Your malice won't break me You're just unveiling the other side of me Your backbites  only gives me a firmer grip on life. I AM But GOLD The desire of many Yearning for a piece my lustre But lacks the Patience and resilience to dig deep inside of me Let alone lift a finger to help remove my ores. I AM But MORTAL Flesh and Blood With strength and weaknesses But above all tha...

Letter to My Ex

Image
I remember the day we met Beaten by the rain and all wet Sharing is caring So I got close to make sure good you faring With tears amidst rain on your face You, I immediately embraced To cover up your shame  On 21st street lane I overlooked your knocked knees Your desire for love I freed You didn't have the beauty of Queen of Sheba Or the smooth skin of the African Mamba A little Rexona,  A little Nivea. I rubbed off all your rough edges like that of an ape And managed to put you in shape You were not a super hero but I robbed you in a cape Little did I anticipate That me you'll under rate To trade me, your color television For that black and white without a vision Who wears sun shades even at night Knowing very well that he's not in the right Where did I go wrong All day I sing for you romantic love song Or was it that my bola was too long That would've been a feather in my cap Would've made merry and drunk milk from the tap Cos I have the blood of my ancestors. S...

The King of Comedy

Image
Ever heard of Charles Chaplin (Charlie Chaplin)? He's said to be the King of Comedy. HIS EARLY LIFE About the year 1900, a small, dark haired boy named Charles Chaplin was often  seen waiting outside the back entrances of London theaters. He looked thin and  hungry but his blue eyes were determined. He was hoping to get work in show  business. He could sing and dance. His parent were music hall artist and he had  been born in to the life of the stage. And although his own boyhood was  painfully hard, He knew how to make people laugh. The boy's suit was in rags. It wasn't always possible to get work. He traveled  for a while with a song-and-dance act called "the eight Lancashire Lads". At  first, He played the part of a dog. The boys slept crowded together each night  in a different lodging house in different towns. They missed their mothers. As  they lay in bed, they listen to the sound of drunken fighting in the street  outside. His own...
